For over 40 years, Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo has represented clients on environmental, natural resources, energy, utility, land use, local government, building and construction, and labor law. With attorneys throughout California and in Oregon, and offices in South San Francisco and Sacramento, Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo represents labor organizations, trade associations, environmental, consumer and community groups and other non-profit associations.

Position Summary:
Adams Broadwell Joseph & Cardozo is now accepting applications for a contract attorney to join our growing land use and environmental law practice in Oregon. The attorney will research legal and factual issues related to pending cases, draft memoranda, letters and briefs, work with experts and scientists, and engage in oral advocacy at public hearings.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Excellent research and analytic skills.
Outstanding and persuasive written or oral communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with technical experts, including with respect to new technologies and emerging climate and health threats.
Effective legal representation with experience in land use and environmental law.
Strong capacity for strategic thinking, including in designing and implementing advocacy that consistently obtains high-quality results.
Demonstrated initiative and creativity in approach with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities, combined with the ability to work collaboratively.
Strong desire to advocate for sustainable development that avoids or mitigates environmental harm and public service impacts while maximizing community benefits.
Demonstrated commitment to serving the public interest.
Ability to work collegially and contribute to a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed, including for case work, educational seminars, hearing appearances and meetings with clients.
This is a contract attorney position at an hourly rate between $40 and $100 per hour, depending on relevant experience, skills, current business needs and market factors.
