SUMMARY
The Program Director, Operations Management is responsible for operational management of the Adult Day Health Program and the delivery of quality medical, social, nutritional and recreational services. Plans, implements, and evaluates program policies and procedures. The Program Director develops and supervises Adult Day Health Program staff including members and employees, in conjunction with Director/Manager of Operations. Coordinates and collaborates with contracted services to achieve program objectives. Conducts plans for outreach and marketing. Evaluate the success of the program by meeting stakeholders' needs. Create an annual strategic plan to reflect quality measures outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:
- Directs and oversees all services of the adult day center program
- Develop short and long-term goals for Adult Day Health Program
- Fiscal Administration of the program
- Development and implementation of the program's marketing plan
- Establish collaborative relationships to ensure necessary support services are available to members and their families.
- Ensures compliance with the standards established by the Department of Health and Human Services and other regulatory and accrediting agencies.
- Aware of existing laws and regulations governing practice, including the assurance of competency of clinical nursing staff.
- Continue to monitor and comply with State regulations for the center, including required paperwork
- Personnel Management
- Interviews and selects appropriate candidates or available postions
- Assures orientation of all staff
- Develops and implements a plan for individual orientation.
- Assures participation in appropriate in-services and certification programs.
- Supervision and evaluation of all staff
- Handles payroll time and attendance for employees
- Other Duties
Consult with medical staff regarding a member's condition and medical needs Assures staff knowledge and integration of participant's age as a critical element in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. Assist, if needed, with the development of the medical day center's policies Assures maintenance compliance in center Chart audits as needed Overseeing program safety and emergency evacuation plans Seek and use clinical and administrative guidance as needed. Coordination of Admissions Coordination of Transportation Services Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages assigned team, including performance evaluations
- Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.
- Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Registered Nurse if required by state regulations
- Minimum one year of experience in the care of impaired adults
- Two years of managerial experience
- Two years' experience working with adults in a health-care setting (professional/volunteer)
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Registered Nurse License as required by state regulations
- CORI
Other Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated leadership ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to quality care and the multidisciplinary team approach.
Other Requirements:
- Competence in CPR and First Aid
- Physical in the past 12 months
- Annual TB Test
Working Conditions:
- Free standing patient environment with exposure to clinical equipment/machinery, medications, cluttered rooms and hallways, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Exposure to infectious illness, body fluids and cleaning materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
