Nature of Work

The Education and Scholarships Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination of the scholarship application and renewal process, communicating with students, parents and schools.  The position provides administrative support for the Education and Scholarships department and assists in working with scholarship donors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the primary contact to scholarship application vendor.
  • Prepare scholarship opportunities for posting on website and create online applications.
  • Qualify and prepare scholarship applications for selection committees.
  • Coordinate scholarship renewal process.
  • Prepare documentation to produce scholarship award payments. Mail checks and follow up with any misdirected check or institution questions.
  • Notify students of receipt/denial of scholarship awards. Process terms of agreement information.
  • Respond to general scholarship questions via email and phone.
  • Prepare reports for donors and internal stakeholders regarding scholarship awards.
  • Represent ACF at events, scholarship interviews, and conferences related to education and scholarships.
  • Assist relationship managers with a portfolio of scholarship fund donors.
  • Respond to donor questions and online grant making.
  • Attend meetings, record minutes, and give updates/reports about ACF’s scholarship program.
  • Coordinate administrative and programmatic tasks related to scholarship administration.
  • Support the Education and Scholarships team, including but not limited to meeting planning, program support, and research.


Requirements

Knowledge or Skills

To successfully perform the functions of this position, a bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least

one year office work experience. Computer literacy should include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel and web-based software applications.  The ability to learn proprietary software (Foundant Scholarship Lifecycle Management, Salesforce, Wrike) is desired.  Good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written with internal and external clients, is required. The ability to provide exceptional customer service in a performance driven environment is critical to success in this role. Previous scholarship administration, financial aid, education (classroom or policy) and/or foundation experience is preferred, but not required.

Other Requirements

This position functions in an office environment. Incumbent will spend an extensive amount of time using computer systems and telecommunications services.  Individual must be proficient with general office equipment to include personal computers, telephones, calculators, copiers, facsimiles, etc.

Major Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the scholarship program application processes and records.
  • Work with students and schools to administer awards.
  • Education program/grant development and management.
  • Relationship management with a portfolio of ACF donors.
  • Represent the Arizona Community Foundation in a positive and professional manner.
