Description
The Creative Producer is responsible for coordinating, shaping, and preparing content across Team DSB’s media ecosystem, spanning research, scripting, editorial coordination, and day-to-day production support. This role sits at the center of our storytelling pipeline, translating ideas into clear scripts, outlines, schedules, and production-ready assets, while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and editorial excellence across platforms.
Working closely with editors, designers, and fellow producers, the Creative Producer helps manage the flow of work from concept through execution, coordinating logistics such as guest outreach, scheduling, asset collection, and quality control to ensure content is strategically sound, well-structured, and ready for production.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
This role blends content strategy with hands-on, day-to-day creative production, including coordinating guests, scheduling recordings or shoots, and supporting execution from planning through delivery.
Creative Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and communication across guests, internal team members, and external collaborators to ensure projects stay on track from planning through delivery
Content & Copywriting Development
- Develop graphics, videos, and written copy/captions for social and newsletter content
- Collaborate with additional graphic design and video editing support as needed
Content Ideation & Research
- Identify content topics and post opportunities across platforms
- Surface timely, trend-based, and evergreen content as relevant
Content Calendar Management
- Maintain and manage the social content calendar in Asana
- Ensure content is pre-planned, reviewed, and approved ahead of publishing
Editorial & Special Projects Support
- Support special projects as needed, including website copywriting and design support
- Curate media, research, and content insights to inform storytelling and strategy
Analytics, Insights & Reporting
- Track content performance across platforms
- Compile and analyze weekly and monthly insights
- Share learnings and recommendations to inform future content and strategy
Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience in copywriting, content creation, social media content, or journalism
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong copy-editing and proofreading abilities
- Proficient in editing for style, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency
- Ability to fact-check information and verify sources
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in tools like Google Workspace and Asana.
- Familiarity with industry practices, niche software, and similar roles or organizations.
ABOUT YOU:
- You have previous experience as a Creative Producer, Content Producer, or similar role.
- You have previously worked in the creative space (think: agencies, digital consultancies, social media/influencers, etc.) and are familiar with content, social media platforms, and working in a digital business environment.
- You have previous experience working remotely and independently and have your own laptop and a reliable internet connection.
- You have extensive experience with the tools we use.
- You’re an excellent writer and strategic thinker.
- You love content (from podcasts to YouTube channels to TikToks and newsletters).
- You can communicate an idea well via different mediums (a slide deck, a proposal, a newsletter, social media graphics, a virtual meeting, or an email, etc.).
- You are quick to respond to daily tasks and requests from the Executive Director.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Excellent graphic design skills with proficiency in tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in a content production or social media management role
Work Environment:
All of our work is entirely remote.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily a desk-based role, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Occasional travel may be required for client meetings or company events.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, such as a laptop, monitor, and phone.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in both virtual and in-person environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
During the initial contract period (first three months):
This role will begin as a paid contract position. Compensation will be provided at an equivalent contract rate aligned with the full-time salary listed above.
Benefits are not provided during the contract period.
Upon conversion to full-time employment:
Paid Time Off: 20 days of paid time off (“PTO”) per year, in addition to Team DSB’s paid holidays. PTO may be used for vacation and personal leave. A current list of paid holidays will be provided by your supervisor.
Sick Leave: 5 days of paid sick leave per year, in addition to PTO, to be used for illness or health-related needs, including mental health days.
