- Accelerating Research Translation Program Director
Description
The ART CONNECT Program Director has an integral role in actualizing the delivery
of the National Science Foundation’s five-year grant to AUTM. The role will be the national coordinator for
education, communities of practice, the ART Ambassadors Network, the next generation of research
translation professionals, and cross-track collaboration in support of NSF ART Tracks 1–4. The AUTM
CONNECT Program Director will function as a neutral, inclusive coordinator that helps institutions strengthen
research translation capacity through sustained engagement, shared learning, and coordinated implementation
support.

ROLE OF THE DIRECTOR:
The ART CONNECT Program Director will support ART awardees as both individual institutional initiatives and
members of a broader national community working toward common goals. This project manager will
strengthen connections among ART Tracks 1–4, reduce duplication of effort, amplify successful practices, and
create pathways for sustained institutional and ecosystem-level impact.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liaison with the National Science Foundation to ensure quality delivery on a regular interval with the PI
of the Grant, AUTM’s CEO; the Executive Committee for the Track 5 Grant; and the Steering
Committee, which will include representatives from Tracks 1-4. - Coordinate and maintain a strong relationship with the grantees for Track 1 and 2 – university and
research institutions, aiding in accessing educational materials and program benefits. - Lead ongoing conversations (information-sharing among awardees; Trainings, and Community of
Practice Discussions) with all Track 1-4 awardees and document progress towards the deliverables for
the grant. - Support the usage of and field questions regarding the centralized portal that will host education,
training, and virtual discussions. - Supervises a Program Coordinator.
General Association Support:
- Analysis and reports, as needed.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in project management, communications, or related
field a plus. Advanced degrees, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or CAE a plus. - Experience:
- 5-8 years’ experience working for an association and/or in developing program content for
meetings and educational training. - Advanced degrees, Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or CAE a plus.
- Understanding and having worked with a national government agency and/or grant funded
organizations.

- Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and ability to

- Experience creating, monitoring and managing budgets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and ability to

- The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000-$100,000 annually.
- Two weeks (80 hours) of sick leave accrued annually on a semi-monthly basis.
- Four weeks (160 hours) of general PTO (commonly referred to as vacation) accrued annually on a
semi-monthly basis. - 100% employer-paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees, and 50%
employer-paid premiums for dependents. - Traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) options with up to a 5% employer match (match is Traditional 401(k)
regardless of employee selection).
